Port Moody Power
& Sail Squadron is proud to be a member of a Canada-wide
organization offering boating safety courses,
including power and sail navigation courses as well as
Canadian Coast Guard accredited boating courses, leading to
the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC), popularly known as
the Boat License. CPS also offers VHF Marine Radio courses
leading to the Restricted Operator Certificate, ROC(M),
which includes the new Digital Selective Calling endorsement
( DSC and GMDSS )
Since 1938, the volunteer instructors of Canada's largest
association of boating enthusiasts have offered safe boating
courses at convenient locations in cities and towns across
Canada.
Successful completion of the qualifying examinations
for the Pleasure Craft Operator Certificate and the Boating
Course (The "Power Squadron Course" ) leads to
particular membership categories. Each category ensures
special membership benefits.
