Port Moody Power and Sail Squadron was formed in January of
1975. The founding members had been members of the Burnaby
and Coquitlam squadrons who felt that there was suitable
interest for Port Moody to have their own squadron. Since
then we have been one of the most
dynamic and active Squadrons in B.C. With more than 250
members and over 100 boats, we reflect the warm, small town
atmosphere of Port Moody, and its emphasis on people and
community.
Our prime objective is to achieve safe boating through
continuing education. We focus on cruises and related social
activities which give new marine experiences in a fun filled
way, and encourages continuous additions to a Member's
knowledge.
As with all Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons, completion
of The Boating Course is a pre-requisite to Membership.

The Burgee or Pennant for
our Squadron was designed in 1977. The 4 marine
signals down the side of the burgee represent the
letters, P, M, P, & S which stands for Port
Moody Power Squadron. The Golden Spike connects us
to the city of Port Moody and the CPR railroad. The
blue and white stripes mimic the National Canadian
Power Squadron flag which represent the waters on
which we sail.
